April 2012 ~ The first offspring of LITA's Heifers for Caregivers project in Sironko, Uganda

Moo-ving on up!

The first two heifers in LITA’s Heifers for Caregivers project in Sironko, Uganda calved this past week, rippling wider, and stronger, the circles of empowerment flowing from the program..

April 2012 ~ A delicious, nutritious cup of fresh cow's milk

.. fresh milk for the orphaned children living in home based care with the two groups of caregivers ( 10 caregivers with approximately 30 orphaned children ) and..

 

.. once of age, the calves will be passed to the next member in each group to eventually be bred. And so on, and so on.

Nere a bunny or chocolate egg in sight, rather, gifts of joy and empowerment a-plenty on this very Happy and Blessed Easter!

To date, LITA donors have supported 15 heifers for as many caregiver groups. Additional groups are lined up, ready, willing and able to participate in the project. Please learn more and join in here.
