Wonderful News! On April 17, 2012 one of our little orphaned Beloveds was presented with his custom, hand made tricycle wheel chair! The chair, sponsored by a group of women at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kamloops, BC Canada, was built locally in the city of Tororo, Uganda and transported to Mutufu in Sironko where it was given to Vincent.

Pictured with Vincent is a man who also uses a tricycle, who has offered to teach Vincent how to use his new transportation. (The photos in this posting were taken with one of the several donated digital cameras I brought and left in Uganda in February..

April 2012 – Little Vincent with his new tricycle wheel chair and a community member who also uses one.. he has offered to help Vincent learn how to navigate with his new transportation.

just exactly how to correct the date that displays is something yet to be figured out! Actual date – April 17, 2012)

The Director of ACIO (Aids Concern Integrated Organization – a small grass roots org caring for orphaned children that Love Is The Answer – LITA – supports) helped to arrange the making and delivery of the custom wheel chair. He writes..

“The Board members and caregivers of ACIO acknowledge the great support LITA has offered to all orphaned children in the organization without discrimination. The support of a tricycle wheel chair to little Vincent has left the community amazed.

This is a boy who has been crawling on his stomach for many years. Little Vincent has lost both parents. His mother was drowned in the flooding river and his father died of AIDS. He grew in the hands of his grandmother.

On Tuesday the 17th of April, little Vincent received his tricycle wheel chair. It took us long to get this wheel chair because they are not available on open markets. But at last, little Vincent’s dream has been fulfilled.

Many Blessings to the president of LITA, the staff of LITA, all the Donors and well wishers of LITA.

Yours faithfully,

Vincent Namisi
ACIO Director”

Thank you to the kind, compassionate and generous ladies at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kamloops.. your generosity has completely changed and empowered this little child’s life and inspired a community to greater awareness and support for orphaned children with physical challenges living among them.

One of the members of the church, my friend Mary, listened to me tell the story of little Vincent one day, after I had received news and a photo from (big) Vincent of the boy crawling along a road side. He said that the boy was making his way to school

April 2012 – And.. he’s off! We can only imagine how inspiring and empowering this new perspective is for little Vincent, after years of crawling.

like this every day since the friend who used to push him in a wheel barrow had moved away. Mary took the story and little Vincent to heart. She shared about him with her church members, and soon, a donation was in the works, in honor and memory of another very kind and generous member of the congregation, John, who had recently passed.

Months later, the circle has now completed and the ripples of this Love, who can count.. how many, how deep, how far.. it’s all so amazing and beautiful.

All of us at LITA join with little Vincent, his grandmother, and all of the community around him in Uganda in joyful and humble gratitude. Thank you so very much.

Blessings in Love,
Catherine
