.. to say “Thank You” for an amazing year,
and to wish everyone a most wonderful 2012!
We are all very grateful for the beautiful support we have received from many who are helping us toward our goal to build new dorms for the children! What a happy day it will be when we get all the children up off the dirt floor for their first night’s sleep in beds in a secure building.. before next rainy season begins in late Feb/early March.
We’re close now to beginning the building. We received the a-ok from Canada Revenue Agency yesterday and are now working on the budget/estimate, adjusting figures to current prices and a slightly altered design. We all know how the costs of goods and services have risen everywhere and of course, we are seeing that here in Uganda too.
As a result, we are still needing to raise funds to build and furnish the Center and we hope, if you are able, that you will consider ending the 2011 tax year off with a donation
to help us as we continue to move forward on the project. Thank you!
It was very wonderful to welcome our first
LITA volunteer family who joined us for a week just before Christmas! With their Love and kindness, their care, laughter, play, singing, sharing, example, teaching, listening, ideas, understanding.. what a contribution each Wagner family member made to the community during their short stay! Add school and medical supplies, a printer/scanner/copier, a couple of used laptops, soccer balls, and.. solar lanters to over 130 caregivers of around 300 orphaned children, and it’s easy to understand that the gifts the “visitors” shared run deep and wide, and shall be felt long by all whom they met.
