You know the story.. you’re heading this way when, whoa, suddenly you’re going ..
I have arrived feeling a bit wobbly in Kampala after a very, what’s the word, “informative” meeting about the children’s land, with the intention to extend my visa and change my return ticket, and, guess what I’ve learned? KLM has this little thing called a “3 month ticket validity” window that apparently my ticket was purchased with, according to the “terms and conditions” that is.. and that window basically says I can only travel on that ticket for 3 months from the date of my departure, so in my case, within 3 months from Nov 17th.
Meaning, I must leave Uganda by Feb 17th latest or.. will need to pay close to $600 to change my ticket to a “12 month ticket validity window” and then, an additional $250 to change the actual return date.
So, a rather confusing story short, after a flurry of emails, some debate and skyping, I’ve pushed my exisiting ticket as far as I’m able.. and right now it looks like I’ve got a very busy week ahead with many details to do my best with, and.. I’ll be home on Valentine’s Day. Who knew!
I’ll plan to share updates throughout this week as we move forward with this new itinerary.. who knows what will happen next.. or indeed, when! 🙂
